SUNDAY ALSO SEES THE RETURN OF THE POPULAR TRIANGLE TOUR
Join us for our annual Bourne Free Celebration Worship at 12 noon on Sunday 2nd July. Every year since 2011 the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) has held their weekly worship service outdoors at the Bourne Free stage in The Triangle on the Sunday of the festival weekend. It is a special Pride service celebrating God’s lgbt children. Over the years there has been congregational singing, community choir, children’s sermons, guest speakers, drag queens and a special thanksgiving for lgbt people, all culminating with the serving of Communion which is open for everyone to receive. The service is an energetic celebration offering something for everyone.
The MCC church was founded in the lgbt community in Bournemouth in 1979 and has beenCelebrating God’s Love for All ever since. You will find a warm welcome whoever you are — straight or gay, conservative or liberal, old or young, rich or poor, married or single, all gender identities, any race or nationality. At MCC diversity is celebrated as a special gift from God.
Church should be a place where you can be real—no pretending, no hiding who you are. Church should be a place that welcomes our questions and encourages thought and reflection. At MCC you will learn a lot about the Bible and you will be challenged to follow Jesus daily, but you will not be forced into a neat little box and expected to think exactly like everyone else. Following Jesus is more about spiritual values than spiritual rules. Come along to the Bourne Free Celebration Worship and discover church the way it was meant to be!
